Sustainable and Participatory Energy Management
Access to sustainable sources of energy impacts all aspects of human life such as cooking, health care, communication, clean water and sanitation, education and the potential to earn a living. The aim of this 5- day programme is to equip delegates with the skills and knowledge to support local community energy management enterprises.
The programme will provide policy makers and practitioners with a detailed understanding of existing renewable energy technologies, payback periods and financing mechanisms.
Delivered by renewable energy and community development experts, delegates will examine how to conduct renewable energy feasibility studies, identifying funding techniques and learn to support communities in managing their existing fuel sources in a sustainable way.
Furthermore, the programme will teach renewable energy management practices to enable decreasing our dependence on fossil fuels and increasing demand of more efficient energy resources, specifically wood fuel, biogas and biofuels.
