Denise Smart and Simon Nairn return to London HQ
May 26 2009
.
Denise and Simon visited Maputo, Mozambique for a week in the middle of May. The trip was very successful and enabled them to meet many Ministries, Departments and Agencies, some of whom know RIPA International very well but also others who received their first introduction to our services.
Many of those that already knew RIPA International were very pleased when Denise and Simon gave further details of RIPA International’s services including the offering for in country training, tailored to an organisation’s needs. Also of particular interest were the two open courses that RIPA are organising in Pretoria on Finance for non Finance Managers and Creating and Managing High Performance Teams in July and September respectively as well as the many other locations we have for these courses throughout the year.
A key learning point for RIPA International was the planning timetable needed for government officials from Mozambique. Planning for 2010 courses will take place in July/August of this year, with many MDA’s naming the programmes at this stage. RIPA has promised that they will endeavour to complete their 2010 schedule earlier than the usual September this year and email it to their Mozambique contacts as soon as it is available. We would be very interested to hear of the planning timetables of other organisations so that we ensure that information is sent in a timely fashion.
Denise and Simon were also lucky enough to be able to spend a day at their leisure in Maputo. They spent an afternoon on the beautiful Costa del Sol beach and an equally enjoyable evening in the adjacent restaurant sampling the delicious local cooked fish. They both hope that they will be fortunate to enjoy another trip at some time in the future to travel around some other parts of the country. Denise and Simon would also like to convey their sincere gratitude to all those they met and spoke with for. It was very much appreciated as was the warm welcome shown by everyone. They have taken many happy memories back to London.
