Overview:
Access to sustainable sources of energy impacts upon all aspects of human life - from health care, clean water and sanitation, education, communication, cooking, to the fundamental necessity to earn a living. The aim of this 5- day workshop is to equip delegates with the skills and knowledge to support local community energy management enterprises.

The workshop will provide policy makers anƒd practitioners with a sound understanding of existing renewable energy technologies, payback periods and financing mechanisms.

Delivered by renewable energy and community development experts, delegates will examine how to conduct renewable energy feasibility studies, identify funding approaches and techniques. Furthermore they will learn how to support communities in managing their existing fuel sources in a sustainable way.

In addition to this, the workshop will provide renewable energy management practices to enable the decrease in dependence on fossil fuels and supporting the increase in demand for more efficient energy resources, specifically wood fuel, biogas and biofuels.
