Overview:

This programme introduces the art and science of effective speech writing and speech making. It looks at the use of an effective speech as a tool of leadership, as part of strategic communication, as an inspirational tool and as a never-ceasing method of changing public perception and actions. At its best, speech writing and speech-making can change the course of history.

This is a programme which takes the participant on a journey from the ancient Greeks and Romans, to Barack Obama, via some of the great orators, rhetoricians and speech writers including William Shakespeare, Martin Luther King, Winston Churchill, and other great world leaders. The tutor will use real examples to illustrate key points, and the course culminates in a speech making master class which will inspire confidence and leave you ready to make high quality speeches in any circumstance.
