All too often managers find themselves in a chaotic environment, with no real opportunity to look at their area of responsibility from a strategic perspective – having to ‘fire fight’ and retroactively deal with challenges to the overall objectives they are tasked to achieve. They have passion, are extremely committed, and work incredibly hard. But without a clear vision and purpose, their team can be in danger of drifting to stasis, poor results, or at worst, organisational obsolescence. The best managers are inspirational leaders, whatever their level within their organisation. They appreciate the fact that all people need a clear sense of identity and purpose, and to feel that they have the right resources in support of achieving and sustaining organisational success.
This programme sets out a package of techniques and measures for effective organisational and people management. The programme is designed to provide managers in both the public and private sector, with the opportunity to reflect and undertake a managerial ‘health check’ with a view to improving their leadership strategies and managing efficiently and effectively.
We examine tools and techniques to develop high performing teams and individuals, ways to better lead their organisation, and importantly, how to tackle issues of motivation and attitude. We look at the techniques used by successful organisations, taking account of the organisation cultures and of how to work effectively within available resources.
